Founded in 1972, SCI-Arc is widely regarded as one of the most avant-garde U.S. architecture schools, with a reputation for pushing the boundaries of academic study. Architectural Record publication recently ranked SCI-Arc number two in the nation in the field of design and computer applications. SCI-Arc's approximately 500 students and 80 faculty members - most of whom are practicing architects - work together to explore and test the limits of architecture in the quarter-mile long former Santa Fe Freight Depot located in the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles.
Ranked as one of the best schools internationally by various publications, Caltech is blazing forward into future in the field of science and engineering. Academic home of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Caltech is located in Pasadena, northeast of Los Angeles. The institution enrolls approximately 950 undergraduate and 1200 graduate students and employs about 300 professorial faculty.
